Corporate Environments Provides Solutions for Powell Goldstein’s New Atlanta Office
Powell Goldstein LLP, one of Atlanta’s largest law firms, turned to Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart Interiors, Inc. (SRSS) and Corporate Environments (CE) for assistance when it decided to relocate its Atlanta office.
Completed in December of 2004, the phased move involved relocating their corporate offices from 191 Peachtree in downtown to One Atlantic Center, a landmark office tower in the rapidly growing midtown area. The new space offers Powell Goldstein more than 200,000 square feet of space occupying 10 floors.
Powell Goldstein’s goal for their new office was a space with an updated look and a warm and inviting aesthetic for their employees. To accomplish this goal, the firm put together a committee with employees from each department to discover personnel needs.
“As a client, Powell Goldstein was decisive and really knew what they wanted in trying to make a better workspace for their employees,” said CE Sales Representative Jane Hunecke. “They really listened to employee feedback on their needs and were open to a workspace design to fit those needs.”
For a solution, Richard Horne and Randall Buice of Powell Goldstein collaborated with a group of SRSS professionals that included Lisa Rosenbaum, Jack Pruitt, and Alison Hondroulis. The resulting design included warm woods combined with beautiful stones, colorful accents, and transitional spaces.
The scope of work encompassed new offices for three floors of administrative space and seven practice floors. Product used includes Knoll Reff, Knoll Dividends workstations, and some loose furniture for lobbies, conference rooms, and dining areas. Select partners’ offices included Knoll Reference, Councill, and National.
“The end result is a new facility with a level of energy, sophistication, and warmth that captures the aesthetic Powell Goldstein was hoping to create for their employees,” Hunecke said.
“A job of this scale could not have been accomplished without the true teamwork of all parties involved,” she added. “The team from SRSS, Alan Robbins at Knoll, and the Powell Goldstein decision makers facilitated a truly successful project. We were thrilled to have been included.”
